Finding unique images everywhere

This photo was taken prior to me photographing a hockey game on assignment for the newspaper group I work for: York Region Media Group and www.yorkregion.com. You must always keep a sharp eye out all around you for things that may suddenly happen or appear to you. It is a simple photograph that works (humourously) on it's own, but everyone naturally wants to know the background. This is a father hanging over a balcony seating area dispensing advice to his son prior to the start of a hockey game in Stouffville, Ontario. The reflection simply happened as I was standing around waiting to obtain player rosters from the timekeeper at ice level. It was just there. The camera was at the ready - 1600-ISO, facial-recognition auto-focus on. I knew at the time I had something unique and fun. The editors loved it, front page.
